As most of you know, Rebecca and I have been dating for over 3 years, and most of this time has been long distance. However, the past 7 months has been quite a bit different because we've actually been living together! During this time things have been going very well, and since she hasnt thrown me out onto the street yet, I figured I should probably ask her if we could take things to the next level.. :)

This is how it went down..

Wow, things sure have been changing quickly for me over the past month. Allow me to explain..

I was vising Becky at her parents in WV when, out of the blue, Becky and I got simultaneous interviews for jobs. Even better, they were both in Northern New Jersey, and within 15 minutes of each other! So we jumped in the car and set out on a road trip for our interviews, which also fell on the same day. 3 days later, we both got offers! Yeee haw!

So, here we are, 3 weeks later, settling into our new apartment in historic Morristown, NJ. Becky started her job this week, and I start mine on Monday. Talk about full speed ahead! whew..

From what I've seen, Morristown seems like a pretty nice place. 30 miles west of New York City, its close enough to take advantage of its amenities, yet just far enough to avoid most of the mayhem that comes with it!

However, I'm still without a digicam, so I haven't been able to take any pix of the area yet. As soon as I pick one up, however, I'll be doing some "exploring". ;)

Thanks to everyone that came by to check out the site in the past couple of days, and for all the encouraging words.

As you may have noticed, there are now two orange boxes labelled "ATOM" and "RSS2". These represent the two methods of syndication that are now supported on both the blog, and the photoblog. MovableType also spits out RSS 1.0, but I chose not to include it. If anyone would prefer RSS 1.0, please let me know!

I'm using NewsGator to collect all my syndications, under recommendation of Sean. It allows you to stream your subscriptions straight into an Outlook folder. Quite cool.

I tested it out on the Yewchuk.com feeds, and it seems to work fairly well - Pretty cool to have syndicated photoblogs stream right into your mail client! Collaboration at its finest, my friend. ;)

As you may have noticed, my recent photoblog entries haven't exactly been recent photos! I'm not sure that entries into photoblog necessarily have to be images that have been taken recently, but it would seem to follow with the whole "blog" theory.

The reason for this is two-fold.

1. My camera has recently died. Which really sucks, because I'm one of those people that likes to have a camera on them at all times. I'm hoping I can simply get it repaired, although I dont know what the cost or turnaround time for that would be.

2. I have tons of pictures I've taken over the past year or two that haven't made it into the galleries, but that I'd still love to share!

So for now, I'll be going through the archives, and pulling out anything that catches my eye.

Yes, I've finally updated my site, and a complete redesign while I was at it! In upcoming blog entries, I'll talk about how I used MovableType and Coppermine Image Galleries to drive many of the dynamic elements of this site. Each of them required quite a bit of customization, as well as a few tricks.

For now, take a look around and let me know if something doesnt seem right!
